Frog Pose (Mandukasana) is a deep hip-opening posture that primarily targets the inner thighs groin and hip adductors. The Sanskrit name ‘manduka’ means frog referencing how the wide-legged position resembles a frog ready to leap. This intense stretch appears in both Hatha and Yin yoga traditions and is particularly emphasized in Kundalini yoga.
In the classic form practitioners begin on hands and knees then widen the knees outward while keeping the ankles aligned with the knees. The feet are typically turned outward and the practitioner gradually lowers the upper body creating an intense stretch along the inner thigh region.
